FIVE DECADES WITH A CAMERA: THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF GRAHAM NASH

September 15, 2011

An Exclusive Exhibition At The Richard Goodall Gallery, Manchester 15th September – 12 November 2011

Rock legend Graham Nash is to exhibit an exciting collection of his photography from the last 50 years, including a selection of never before seen  colour images, at Manchester’s Richard Goodall Gallery in September.

Nash, famed usually for his music as a member of one of the UK’s most successful 60s bands, The Hollies, and founder of US super group Crosby, Stills and Nash (later joined by Neil Young), is a talented, rarely exhibited photographer whose work was first shown at The Richard Goodall Gallery as a worldwide exclusive in 2004.
Graham has taken pictures since his teens, his camera at his side throughout his music career. His work is predominantly in black and white, but this new exhibition will new colour works taken in more recent years.
Graham's subjects are varied from intimate portraits of fellow artists such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Johnny Cash, to self portraits, dramatic rural landscapes and conceptual images of urban life. This new exhibition will comprise a selection of images from across the last five decades.
Richard Goodall comments: ‘We are thrilled to be presenting our 2nd solo  exhibition of Graham’s photography seven years after our first phenomenally successful show in 2004. Vibrant new colour images shown here for the first time compliment his black and white work in a truly remarkable documentation of scenes from 5 decades of travelling with a camera ever present at his side.’
Graham Nash adds: "It makes me pleased as Punch to be sharing my work with you all......to be doing this in my home town makes it very special for me...My mother and father would have been very proud. Can't wait to get there."
